Dr Joe Hu is an exceptionally qualified Specialist Physician and Consultant Geriatrician dedicated to providing a compassionate, holistic approach to the health and well-being of older adults. After graduating with a medical degree from the University of Melbourne in 2014, he completed his rigorous Basic Physician Training at Monash Health, followed by advanced specialist training in Geriatric Medicine across both Monash Health and Peninsula Health. He was awarded his Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in 2022.

Dr Hu’s extensive clinical tenure spans a wide array of sub-specialities unique to ageing physiology. He has worked across Residential In-Reach services, specialised Movement Disorders and Memory Clinics, Palliative Care units, and Orthogeriatrics Perioperative Care teams. This deep institutional exposure makes him uniquely skilled at diagnosing and managing complex age-related health challenges—such as frailty, loss of balance, cognitive decline, and the medical complexities of polypharmacy (managing multiple medications).

Recognising that optimal skin health, mobility, and systemic wellness are deeply interconnected in older individuals, Dr Hu delivers thorough, comprehensive geriatric assessments. He is highly passionate about optimising the quality of life for his patients, works collaboratively with families, and is fully available to conduct specialised consultations directly within Residential Aged Care Facilities.
